Motorcycle accident leaves teen in critical condition

Many Florida accidents may occur due to impairment on the part of one or more individuals. Impairment can cause drivers to have slow reaction time and not be able to see clearly. These factors could lead to a driver colliding with another vehicle and causing an accident. Smaller vehicles may be even more at risk of being overlooked, and a motorcycle accident involving a drunk driver could cause critical injuries.

It was recently reported that a motorcyclist suffered severe injuries after colliding with a vehicle. The motorcycle was moving eastbound when the vehicle made a left turn in front of it. The two vehicles collided, and the driver of the car continued traveling. He parked the vehicle at an apartment complex and did not return to the scene.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital where he was considered to be in critical condition at the time of the report. Authorities apparently noticed the driver of the other vehicle walking into the complex and apprehended him. The driver stated that he had consumed alcohol before the accident, and authorities obtained a warrant for a blood sample after he refused to provide one. At this time, the driver is facing charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Because this motorcycle accident left an individual in critical condition, there could be cause to take legal action against the driver considered responsible. A civil claim could potentially help the qualified party seek compensation for damages resulted from the Florida crash. If the driver is convicted of the charges leveled against him, that information may increase the chances of success for a civil claim.
